Iâm known to my friends as a player; a user of women.
I donât believe in relationships. Theyâre messy and confusing. They donât last.
Lacey Wells walked into my life and ruined it. Although not in the traditional sense, we made the decision to be âexclusiveâ. We used each other to satisfy our bodiesâ want of lust and attraction. And we had thisâ¦for a time.
When uncontrollable events altered the arrangement and life as we knew it had fallen to circumstance, my reactions werenât only punishing, they were painful and cruel. I pushed her away, causing her heartache, but in return, she refused to break. Instead, she challenged my will at every turn. She was determined to make me see the person I always was, but had never been. I was desperate and searching for the answer I was so anxious to haveâ¦
Was I capable of falling in love?
Our path together was tumultuous and unforgiving. At times, it was full of anger and resentment. But it was also fun and sometimes downright ridiculous.
Thereâs no label to our story; tales of cliché pale in comparison. It just happened. It was us. It was crazy and it was exactly what we made it.
Note: There are no love triangles or cheating that takes place within this story. Itâs a HEA; however, the road to getting there is full of angst, sadness, and regret. If you arenât a reader who enjoys the element of angst or heartache, this book isnât one youâd find enjoyment in reading.
Due to content, this book should not be purchased by readers under the age of 18.

âSay it, Travis,â she repeats, walking toward him. He flinches when he notices her getting closer.
âFine. You wanna fuck the playboy, fuck the playboy.â
âThatâs not exactly what we agreed to, is it?â Her hands are on her hips, her foot cocked to the side. Sheâs not backing down at all. Now that I sense things will be okay, I take a second to sum her up.
I want inside her again.
âHayden and I are friends, Trav. Weâre friends who made an adult decision to sleep together, to have sex, to fuck.â
âHeâs not who you think he is,â Travis mumbles, but I hear him as clearly as if heâs said it in my ear. The hurt is painfully difficult to swallow.
âWell, big brother, he has a big cock and I like it, so thatâs enough for me, I guess.â
I let out a short laugh and look to the ground in attempt to hide my smile. Travis, letting this register, sits up on his elbows and although it takes him a few seconds, he finds me in the room still standing by the door. His whine echoes off the walls, âMy sister?â
âYes!â She slams the pillow she yanks off the floor and it hits his face with a bounce. Heâs too drunk to deflect her quick action.
Finally, though, he concedes. âOkay! What the fuck ever. Just donât come to me when he breaks your heart.â Forgetting Iâm still standing in the same room, he continues explaining what he thinks he knows about me. âHe will, Lacey. Heâll fuck you and leave you. Thatâs what he does.â
âGod, youâre such an asshole!â she yells while throwing the other pillow at him and leaving him to sulk in his drunken state alone.
âLace, itâs okay.â I try to calm her but sheâs coming right at me.
âItâs definitely not okay, Hayden. Hope itâs all right âcause Iâm staying the night. Iâm not taking his drunk ass home and Iâm not leaving him here alone with you,â she announces to the room, walking past me down my hallway. She has no clue where my bedroom is so she keeps opening doors along the way.
Before following her in, I walk to Trav lying on the couch with his eyes closed. âI like her, Trav,â I whisper, making this a confession to myself more than him. âWeâre having fun.â
I start to walk away, but hear him call behind me, âDonât hurt her, Hayden. I just got her. Please donât take her away.â
His soft plea reaches out into the empty space between us. Locking the front door, I answer his return with one of my own. âIt wonât be her who gets hurt in this, friend. Itâll be me.â

FIVE STAR REVIEW
Hayden does not believe in hearts and flowers and forever. Hayden was taught from an early age that women were good for one thing only and their use was never for more than one night. Well that idea changes when Hayden meets Lacey. Lacey is strong and independent despite the struggles that she grew up with. When these two meet their chemistry is instantaneous and they agree to be in an exclusive sexual relationship. Sounds easy to do and it is until feelings get involved. This relationship is everything neither of them knew they needed. I loved this story and the struggles these two went through to be together. I recommend this book to anyone looking for humor, sexual chemistry and ultimately sweet romance.
